After I graduate from Overbrook High School, one college I am considering attending is Delaware State University. This school is located in the suburban area of Dover, Delaware. They enroll 3,744 undergraduates each year. They require an SAT score of 400-470 in critical reading, 400-470 in math, and a 380-460 in writing. They require an ACT score of 16-20, with the essay portion. This public university charges $7,056 for in-state tuition and fees, $15,052 for out-of-state tuition, and $10,248 for room and board.
Another college I might attend is Monroe College. This school is located in the urban section of Bronx, New York. They do not require SAT or ACT scores, they require an interview and an essay. This proprietary college charges $12,440 for in and out-of-state tuition, with a room and board fee of $8,430.
One other college I am considering is Millersville University. This university is located in the rural area of Millersville, Pennsylvania. They enroll 7,644 undergraduates each year. They require a SAT score of 470-570 in critical reading, 480-580 in math, and a 450-560 in writing. They require an ACT score of 19-24. This public university charges $8,361 for in-state tuition, $17,721 for out-of-state tuition, and $8,732 for room and board.
After researching some of my college choices, I’ve learned that certain colleges specialize in certain fields. I want to major in forensic biology, so I would have to find a college that will prepare me for that field. I also learned that I can go into other majors to gain experience in science. I learned that some colleges have a higher job rate than other college, since my field is so competitive, I need a school with high job rates.
I believe that Delaware State University would be the best university for me, because they have best science field to offer out of all three schools. They can connect me to great internships to gain experience in my career. This school also has a beautiful campus that I would prefer. Last but not least, this school has a great job rate.
